    • Augusta, GA - Major Arlon H. Jahnke, formally of Appleton, WI and currenty residing in Augusta, GA, returned to his heavenly home on April 02, 2018 at the age of 83. Arlon was born to Ida Hooyman and August Jahnke on January 21, 1935, in Appleton, WI. He joined the US Air force in 1954 and served until 1975. He served three tours in Viet Nam and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and a Purple Heart among various other commendations.

      Arlon is survived by his wife of 22 years Janet Sharp Jahnke. Together they enjoyed traveling, sailing, fishing, and spending time with their extensive blended family of 8 children, 17 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

      A celebration of life will be held May 5, 2018 at the American Legion #192 275 Legion Road, Evans, GA 30809. A brief service with military honors will begin at 1:30pm. All are invited to join the family in fellowship at the conclusion of the service. The family declines flowers and donations but prayers, condolences, and memories are gladly accepted.
