  Ethel M. Brockman, 94, of Seymour passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Meadow Wood Assisted Living in Seymour. She was born February 14, 1920 to the late Peter and Theresa (Schmeider) Melcher. On September 25, 1946 she was united in marriage to Lawrence Brockman at St. Mary's in Appleton. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2010. The couple celebrated 63 years together. Ethel was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Black Creek where she helped serve funeral lunches for other parish members. Before she started raising her family, Ethel worked at Scolding Locks in Appleton making hair pins. Ethel played on one of the first women's baseball teams in Appleton. She enjoyed bowling, playing tennis, and attending various sporting events. Ethel also enjoyed a good card game and going out for walks. She is survived by her children: Ron (Betsy) Brockman, Black Creek; Dave Brockman, Black Creek; Jan (Steve) Vande Corput, Seymour; Joe (Pam) Brockman, Black Creek; Steve (Toni) Brockman, Black Creek; Nancy (Michael) Nagel, Black Creek; Karen (Ken) Coppens, Hortonville; Betty (Bob) Lehrer, Hortonville; 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law: Maurice (Ethel) Brockman, Darboy; sisters-in-law, Marie Brockman, Darboy; Louis Brockman, Appleton. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Nieland; sister, Fleta (Matt) Forester; brother, Dick (Dorothy) Melcher; four brothers-in-law: Lester, Gordon (Pat), Vilas (Germaine), and Jerome Brockman. Friends may call at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Black Creek on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 9:00 AM until the mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon with Father Theodore Hendricks officiating.
