Brockman, Lawrence T.
Lawrence T. Brockman, Black Creek, age 88, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour. He was born October 6, 1921, to the late Joseph and Minnie (Hietpas) Brockman. On September 25, 1946, he was united in marriage to Ethel Melcher at St. Mary's in Appleton. The couple celebrated 63 years together.
Lawrence was a WWII Army Veteran, serving in the Pacific Theaters in the Philippines, New Guinea and the Hawaiian Islands. He was a member of the Black Creek American Legion. He was a milk hauler, farmer and a milk inspector for many years. He served as town chairman for the Town of Black Creek and also served on the Outagamie County Board. Lawrence enjoyed life, going for rides, hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling and going up to his cottage.
He is survived by his wife Ethel and their children: Ron (Betsy) Brockman, Black Creek; Dave Brockman, Black Creek; Jan (Steve) Vande Corput, Seymour; Joe (Pam) Brockman, Black Creek; Steve (Toni) Brockman, Black Creek; Nancy (Michael) Nagel, Black Creek; Karen (Ken) Coppens, Hortonville; Betty (Bob) Lehrer, Hortonville; 25 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Jerome (Marie) Brockman, Darboy; Vilas (Germaine) Brockman, Kaukauna; Maurice (Ethel) Brockman, Darboy.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Nieland, two brothers: Lester and Gordon.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. with Deacon Don Coonen. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Black Creek from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Father Theodore Hendricks officiating.
