- Margaret "Peg" Ponfil, Village of Harrison, age 69, died Friday June 6, 2014 at her home. She was born in Little Chute on October 29, 1944 to the late Gloria (VanDenElsen) Kobussen-Hash and Robert Kobussen. Peg married John Ponfil on October 29, 1966 at Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Kimberly. Peg was an avid reader but when she wasn't reading, she was doing anything creative. Card-making, handmade crafts, cooking, and baking. Everyone loved receiving her creations as much as she enjoyed making them. Peg was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and her daily devotions were an integral part of her life.
Peg is survived by her husband of 47 years, John; children: Johnna (Todd) Brown, Black Creek; Jodi (Paul) Bartel, Combined Locks; Melissa Ponfil, Appleton; and Molly Ponfil, Kimberly; grandchildren: Steffani and Samantha Brown, Lukas and Brynn Bartel; sibings: Eugene "Butch" (Laura) Kobussen, Mary Jo (Lee) Hammen, Debbie Herbst, Sue (Rob) Ristau, Patricia (Robert) Hoffman, Rick (Cindy) Kobussen and Dan Kobussen; brothers-in-law Joe Ponfil (Roxy) and Jerry Ponfil. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Peg was preceded in death by her daughter, Stephanie Sue; step father, Robert Hash; and John's parents, John and Florence Ponfil.
Visitation will be held Monday June 9, 2014 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 Pine St. Little Chute) from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Ronald Beliltz will officiate. Committal St. John Cemetery.
