- Dorothy R. Zielinski, nee Resch, age 90, of Menasha, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2012, after complications from heart surgery, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. On October 20, 1921, Dorothy Rose was born the daughter of the late Simon and Elizabeth (Luniak) Resch in Menasha. She had been united in marriage to Clarence Zielinski for 37 years until he passed away in 1983. Dorothy loved crocheting and embroidering. She liked to do crossword puzzles and go to the casino.
Dorothy will be missed by her sisters: Priscilla Resch and Armilla (Robert) Jankowski; her nephews: Tom (Carol) Resch, William (Chris) Resch, Michael (Mary) Resch; her nieces: Kathy (Mark) Schierl, Lynn (Michael) Swenberger, Maureen (Richard) Williams, Mary Jo (Don) Gayton; a sister-in-law, Claire Zielinski; and many great-nieces and great nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Edward, Irvan (Gen) Resch, Wilfred (Elsie) Resch, Ambrose (Marge) Resch, Marcellin (Leone) Resch; and two sisters: Kathleen and Margaret Resch.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 Second Street, Menasha, with Fr. Paul Paider officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the hour of the Mass at the church. Interment will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Town of Menasha. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sharon Beyer and Joseph and Brenda Kobs as well as Dorothy's niece, Kathy for all of the help and care they provided. A thank you is also extended to the ICU staff at St. Elizabeth's for the kindness and care given to Dorothy.
