Dolores 'Laurie' (Van Camp) Albers, 78, passed from the loving arms of her family into the loving arms of Jesus where he took her to a place of peace and beauty on Saturday December 11, 1999. The daughter of the late John and Minnie (Vandenheuvel) Van Camp was born October 24, 1921 in Freedom. Laurie attended Kaukauna High School and graduated from Freedom High Shool. She graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing, Green Bay and worked at all three Green Bay Hospitals. She also worked as a surgical nurse at Wis. General in Madison. On June 14, 1949, Laurie and Bernard Albers were married at Old St. Joseph Church De Pere. Laurie was a devoted member at the former St. Boniface Church where she was a lector, communion distributor, and funeral coodinator. She was a Pastoral Assistant at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, De Pere where she loved working. It gave her many hours of comfort and encouragement during her illness. Laurie also enjoyed crafts, sewing, gardening and cooking. She always had an ample supply of cookies for her children and grandchildren.
Survivors her loving husband of 50 years, Bernard; her children and their spouses, Michael and Diane Albers, East Windsor, N.J.; Peter and Mary Claire Albers, Wrightstown; Mary Jo and Rick Jelinski, Dykesville; Nancy and Jerry Barrette, De Pere; Jean and Larry Hockers, De Pere; Jeff and Pat Albers, Milwaukee; David and Tammy Albers, Brownsmills, N.J.; Patty and Dean Raasch, De Pere; grandchildren; Terry Jo and Brian Leiterman; Beth, Paul and Peter Albers; Jessica, Eric and Andrea Jelinski; Ross, Alyssa and Ryan Barrette; Scott and Jayme Hockers; Brett and Annie Alberes; Cindy and Matthews Albers and Kaeli Raasch; brothers and sisters; Virgil Van Camp; Fabian and Audrey Van Camp; Lillian and Bernard Vissers, Rita and Cliff Schmitt, Alvin Van Camp, Marge and Jerome Calaway, Cyril Van Camp, Kenneth and Nancy Van Camp, Mary and Bob Miller; brother in-law, Jerome Albers; three sisters in-law Johanna Vanden Heuvel, Helen and Elmer Green and Marie Albers.
Laurie was preceded in death by her parents; sisters in-law Lavern Van Camp, Barbara Van Camp, Bernice Albers, Matilda Quinette; brothers in-law Al Quinette, Raphael Albers, Ambrose Albers and Irvin Vanden Heuvel; and a nephew Bob Van Camp.
Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home 305 N. 10th St. De Pere from 4 to 8 Pm Tuesday. Wake service at 7 PM. Visitation continue from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, De Pere. Mass of Resurrection 10:30 AM Wednesday at the church with Rev. Conrad Kratz, O.Praem. presiding. Concelbrants Rev. James Baraniak O.PRAEM. and other members of the Norbertine Community.
