    • Midge Oliver, age 83, passed away peacefully at The Renaissance Assisted Living on Monday, January 31, 2011. Midge was born in Appleton on February 6, 1927. She is the daughter of the late Ray and May (Gerrits) Lang. On April 23, 1949, she married James Oliver in Appleton. Jim preceded her in death in 2003 after 54 years of marriage.
Midge enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was an active member of several bridge clubs, and spent much of her summer at the family cottage where she enjoyed boating, taking walks with her Grandchildren and making sure everyone stayed well fed. She was able to strike up a conversation with anyone she met and was never at a loss for words. Midge was a loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all.
Midge is survived by her three sons and five grandchildren: Stuart (JoAnne) Oliver of Golden, Colorado and their children Sarah (Chris) Schmidt and Jonathan Oliver (girlfriend Mary); Mark (Peggy) Oliver of Stevens Point and their daughter Megan (Jason) Kirk; Greg (Sandy) Oliver of Kaukauna and their children James and Kayleigh. Midge is further survived by two brothers: Ken (Lucy) Lang and Ted (Joyce) Lang; and two sisters: Rita (Bud) Greisbach and Joan (late Bud) Hoerning.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, an infant daughter Mary, and a brother Joe Lang.
