      Bernard J. Hietpas "Barney", age 84, died Monday evening at Appleton Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born October 29th, 1899, in Little Chute. He started a service station and fuel oil home delivery service in 1929; he also operated at Tavern known as the Modern Bar in Kaukauna for many years; he then started Hietpas Motors, in 1946, selling Plymouth and DeSoto cars, he retired in 1969. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna, a fourth degree Knights of Columbus, and the Holy Name society. Survivors include three daughters: LaVerne and Anton, (Red) Schumann, of Fruitland Park Fla.; Gladys and Martin Jelenc, of Bradington Fla.; Mary and Dan Bork, of Kaukauna; a foster daughter, Lorna and Glenn Jost, of Norwalk California; four sons and three daughters in law: Gerald and Julia, of Fruitand Park Florida; Vincent, of New York, New York, Donald and Betty, of Kaukauna; Marvin and Eleanor, of Kaukauna; a sister in law: Mrs. Margaret Hietpas Pennings, of Little Chute; 26 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mathilda in 1975, a sister and a brother. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with Reverend Mike Hoffmann officiating. Internment will be in St. John's cemetery, Little Chute.
