  Hietpas, William P 1955 Appleton Post Crescent dated 7/22/1955 William Hietpas, succumbs at 57, William P. Hietpas, 57, former member of the county board and chairman of the town of Vandenbroek for many years, died at 540 Thursday night in Kaukauna after a 10 day illness. His farm is on Route 4 Appleton. Owner and operator of the Modern Shoe store in Kaukauna for the last 26 years, he began his career in a shoe store in Appleton. Before his Kaukauna business He operated stores in both Marshfield and Oshkosh. He was elected to the County Board from the town of VandenBroek in 1945 and served as a member for 10 years. During that period he served on three major committees, the county sanitorium, purchasing and health committees. Hietpas was born April 17th, 1898, in the Little Chute area. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 Monday morning at St. John Catholic Church Little Chute, with burial in the parish cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Margaret, five daughters Mrs. Henry Tatro of Kaukauna, Mrs. Ted Larson of Combined Locks, Mrs. Casey VanderZanden of Little Chute, Mrs. William Mattern of Menasha, and Miss Margaret Ann Hietpas at home.
