- Colonel Maynard G. Hamilton, U.S. Air Force, Retired, age 94, a former resident of Garden Ridge passed away March 6, 2014. He was born August 9, 1919, in Clintonville, Wisconsin, to John W. and Helen R. (Greely) Hamilton. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Hildegarde (Hil) Hamilton, and three sisters. Survivors include his son, T. Mark Hamilton and his wife (Kathleen); granddaughters, Anne and Jeanna Hamilton; sister, Carol "Corky" Hamilton. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 5 until 8 P.M. with a Rosary recited at 7 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 11:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma. A visitation will be held at the Church prior to the service from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. Interment will follow the Mass at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:30 P.M. with military honors.
