- Mary A. Abendroth (née Pirner), age 66, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at her home in McDonough, Georgia. Mary was born on January 21, 1946 in Appleton, daughter of the late Arthur and Kathrine (House) Pirner. Mary graduated from Xavier High School, attended LaCrosse State College, and graduated from Marquette College. She worked briefly as a teacher at St. Mary's Grade School in Stockbridge, then as a secretary for Operating Engineers Local 139 in Appleton. She and her husband, Jerry, moved to Georgia when he started his law practice. Mary is survived by her husband, Jerry Abendroth, McDonough, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Tom (Kitty) Pirner, Appleton; step-daughter, Dawn Abendroth Peterson, Kaukauna, and step-grandchildren, Natalie, Marjorie, and Amanda Abendroth. A memorial service for Mary will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2211 N. Richmond St., Appleton, with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Friends may call on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
