Head, David R. Sr. (Micky) David R. Head Sr., "Micky", age 67, of Crivitz, WI, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2005. He was born on June 28, 1938, to Dan and Marie (Murphy) Head in Stockbridge, WI. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958, and on April 22, 1959, he married Mary Rose Schmidt. David was a life long resident of Appleton and retired in 1990 from the Appleton Police Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, bowling, his ATV and he had a passion for riding lawnmowers. He enjoyed ripping on packer fans. The main joy of his life was his grandchildren. David is survived by his wife, Mary Rose; four sons: Paul (Vicky) Head, Sheboygan Falls; David Jr. (Karla) Head, Appleton; Kevin (Fiance' Kris Huntington) Head, Appleton; Allan (Linda) Head, Appleton; two daughters: Kelly Ann (Jim) VandeBerg, Menasha; Lisa (Scott) Rogers, Appleton; seven brothers: Keith (Ione) Head, Florida; Bob (Kathy) Van Handel, Clintonville; Don (Debbie) Van Handel, Appleton; Mike Van Handel, Appleton; Pat (Ruth) Head, Appleton; Mark Head, Little Chute; Wayne Head, Kaukauna; three sisters: Marion Hoffman, Appleton; Nancy (Dave) Bevers, Kimberly; Barb Dunn, Colorado; grandchildren: Chris, David, Zac, Bret, Haley, Savannah, Max, Elizabeth, Jessica, Ross, Kyle, Colt, Derek, Dakota, Nicholas and Emma; a great-grandchild, Kyle; many brother and sister-in-laws that he loved; special friends, Del and Marge Nitzband; Bud and Yvonne Kuen and Bob and Judy Paessler. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law: John and Hattie Schmidt; several aunts and uncles; a brother-in-law, Joe Schmidt. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 12, 2005, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 404 W. Lawrence St., Appleton with Fr. Ken Reinhart Officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, December 11, 2005 at the Valley Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. and Monday, December 12, 2005 at 9 a.m. at the funeral home until the procession to St. Joseph Church. Internment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. David, You were a fighter all the way. We got you half way home. After 2 months, I finally got a chance to lay my head on your shoulders. Even though we shared only 2 months in our new home, I have a lifetime of memories.
