Gerald Louis Verhagen "Jerry", 353 Karlyn Street, Kimberly Age 71, loving husband, father, and wonderful grandfather, passed away after a lengthy illness. Jerry was born on March 13, 1930 in Little Chute, the son of the late Louis and Ceil (Williamson) Verhagen. He graduated from Little Chute High School. Following graduation, Jerry served in the Korean War as an Airborne Ranger and Medic. He married the former Nadine (Zwiers) Verhagen on September 3, 1955. Jerry was employed as a millwright at Kimberly Clark (Midtec) until he became disabled. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nadine; their seven children: Deborah (Dean) Wirth, Appleton; Vicki (Mark) Schmalz, Appleton; Cindy (Doug) Hoffman, Kaukauna; Jeff (Wendy) Verhagen, Appleton; David Verhagen (fiancee Jessica), Waupaca; Jodi (Mike) Skeens, Appleton; and Julie Verhagen, Kimberly. He is further survived by his 13 loving grandchildren, and a sister and brother-in-law: Eileen (formerly Hale), and Harold Strauch, Appleton. Jerry was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law: Jan and Dave Lenz, Little Chute; and his parents, Ceil and Louis Verhagen. The funeral liturgy will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2001 at HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, Kimberly, the Rev. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of mass.
