    • Bernice A. (Van Rite) Sherry, 75, Green Bay, died Sunday, July 22, 2012. She was born March 29, 1937, in De Pere, to Clarence and Marcella (Van Den Langenberg) Van Rite. Bernice attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School in De Pere and was a graduate of East De Pere High School, Class of 1955. She worked at the State Bank in De Pere from 1955 to 1958. In 1958, she began working for the Belson Company and worked there until 1964. On July 29, 1961, Bernice married Richard "Dick" Sherry at St. Mary's Catholic Church in De Pere. On October 6, 1965, their daughter, Sheryl was born and Bernice stayed home to be a homemaker until 1978. She later worked for Alwin Manufacturing, Ansorge Building Materials, Paper Converting Credit Union, and many other jobs until her retirement. Bernice was a charter member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. She was a member of the Brown County Homemakers, Evergreen Quilters, and the Hearts and Friends Quilt Club. Bernice was an avid quilter and knitter, and enjoyed traveling until illness kept her home.

      Survivors include her husband, Dick; her daughter, Sheryl, Green Bay; her dog, "Jo Jo"; many other relatives and friends.

      Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Harry.

      Friends may call at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2771 Oakwood Dr., from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 24. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may also call at the church from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 25. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Paul Demuth officiating.       In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Bernice's name.
