- Alice C. Jarvis, 91, Green Bay, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at her home. She was born March 9, 1920, in the Village of Howard, to Dezera and Angeline (Adrians) Roskom. On June 5, 1937, she married Edward Jarvis at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Howard. Mrs. Jarvis was active in her church. She had been the Secretary of the Catholic Women at St. John the Baptist Parish in Howard and later, after joining St. Agnes Parish, she served as Vice President of the Christian Mother's Club. She also volunteered for the St. Vincent de Paul Society Craft Department for over 25 years. Ed and Alice were named Couple of the Year at St. Agnes Parish on four separate occasions. Alice loved her Christmas cactus, gardening, reading, baking and cooking.
Survivors include five children and their spouses, Jerome and Kathryn Jarvis, Round Lake, Ill.; Edward and Verdelma Jarvis, Lac du Flambeau; Jeanne and Richard Leurquin, Eagle River; Nancy and Kenneth Linssen, De Pere; Ronald Jarvis, St. Germain; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Frances Roskom, Sr. Jeanne Jarvis O.S.F.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; eight sisters, Philpine VanDenPlas, Clara Tilque, Regina VandenBerg, Vera VanHoof, Mabel Gillis, Lucy Caelwaerts, Rosaline Bradderock, Josephine Roskom; and two brothers, Andrew Roskom, George Roskom.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Friends may also call at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev.
