    • Green, Daniel 2002 Oshkosh Northwestern dated 12/7/2002 Daniel V. Green Daniel V. Green, 76, passed away on Thursday, December 5th., 2002 at Weyauwega Health Care Center, Weyauwega, WI., due to the effects of lung cancer. He previously resided at 666 Jefferson St. Oshkosh, Apartment 2. Daniel was born February 19, 1926 the son of Frank and Mary Green of Oshkosh. Dan lived in Oshkosh the majority of his life except for his time in the service. Daniel enjoyed sales work and sold televisions and appliances for many years. He also worked for Guernsey Dairy as a route salesman. When milk delivery was discontinued, he worked for Mercury Marine, in Oshkosh. Dan enjoyed the outdoor sports of fishing, hunting, and boating. He was a member of St. Mary's Parish and belonged to the Catholic War Veteran's. Daniel served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy in World War II and participated in the battle of Leyte Gulf, Philippines, and survived the sinking of his aircraft carrier, the St. Lo. Daniel also served in the Navy for two years, during the Korean Conflict. Daniel is survived by two sons, Robert of Oshkosh and Victor of Neenah. He is also survived by two brothers, Gerald (Mary Kaye) of Elkton, Florida, and Ronald (Eunice) of Sheboygan, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Margaret, and brothers Thomas, James and David. The Poklasny Funeral Home of Oshkosh is providing services for the family.
