Horkman, Wilbert "Bill" Wilbert "Bill" Horkman, 69, Green Bay, passed away Monday evening, Sept. 24, 2007, at a local nursing home. Born Jan. 21, 1938, in Green Bay, he is the son of the late Frank and Angeline Horkman. Wilbert faithfully served in the U.S. Army. Upon returning from the service, he worked for 21 years on the family farm in Humboldt. He married Gloria DeCleene on June 9, 1962 at St. Joseph Church, Green Bay. Wilbert worked for many years at Larsen's and Green Bay Canning, cleaning at Lambeau Field and later maintaining small engines, such as lawnmowers. He enjoyed working in his yard, playing cards, and listened to Polkas. Wilbert would often be found "dancing" in his wheel chair at the nursing home. He liked to spend time with his dog, Coke and bird, Mickey. Wilbert always had a great sense of humor. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Gloria; three brothers and their wives, Elmer and Loretta, Wally and Marcella, all of Green Bay; Donny and Joannie, Luxemburg; three sisters-in-law, Joann DeCleene and Julie Goodletson, Margie Horkman; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, Vernon and Kate DeCleene, Glen DeCleene, all of Green Bay; nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by four brothers, Bernie, Art, Henry and Marvin Horkman; three sisters, Ella (Henry) Thyes, Mamie (Joe) Pieschek; and infant sister, Mabel; father and mother-in-law, Oliver and June DeCleene; one nephew, Willam Burke. Visitation at MALCORE (East) Funeral Home, University Avenue at Baird Street, Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Parish wake service 7 p.m. Friday. Visitation continues Saturday morning at the funeral home prior to the funeral in church. Funeral 10 a.m. Saturday at SS. Peter and Paul Church with Msgr. Roy Klister officiating. Burial in Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Wilbert's family extends a very special thank you to the staffs of Heartland Hospice and Parkview Manor especially to Desiree, Wendy, Renee and Sue.
