  • Notes
    • On Sunday, July 15, 2012 at the age of 94 our Lord along with His angels lifted our Mom into His arms and carried her to her home. Waiting to greet her is our Dad and our sisters Marie and Angeline along with her many brothers, sisters, family and friends being the last to leave us from her generation.

Mom was born on November 16, 1917 to William and Catherine Hendricks. On June 4, 1940 she married our Dad Frank Cayemberg. Dad preceded her to our Lord on April 13, 1974.

Mom was employed by Sportsman Supper Club and Motel for 22 years, retiring in 1984. Mom's children and grandchildren gathered in Jean's home to celebrate her retirement on January 1, 1985.

Mom's favorite pastime was to crochet doilies (all shapes and sizes). Her family have received her handmade gifts through the years and will treasure them forever as a reminder of her talent and special gift. Mom also had a talent for afghans that keep us comfortable on those cold winter nights. Mom was also blessed with a green thumb. Her home and yard were filled with beautiful flowers and ornaments. You would always recognize Mom's house because birds, squirrels, ducks, chippys and many other animals would visit her home on a regular basis. In the last few years she enjoyed just getting in the car and visiting the places of her youth. Mom was only second to her brother John because if it needed fixing MOM could do it.

Mom was also a mother to our cats throughout the years (in her eye's they could do no wrong). There was also her love of birds which included Pete that was honored in the Gazette feasting on a special breakfast.

In 2007 no longer able to live by herself, Mom went to live with her daughter Diane and her husband Terry where they graciously cared for Mom. In 2008 her daughter Carol moved into Mom and Dad's home with a mission on her mind to move Mom back home to the house that Dad built in 1954. With a smile that would light a room that dream was fulfilled in 2010 when Mom returned home to be cared for by Carol and her husband Mike. A very special thank you to our sisters and brothers-in-law for all their efforts to keep Mom comfortable.

Mom was preceded in death by Dad Frank Cayemberg; parents William and Catherine Hendricks; daughter Marie DeWitt; grandchildren Donna Fahey, Elaine Shrank and Denise DeWitt; stepson John Cayemberg; stepdaughter Angeline Matuszak; brothers Joe, Francis and John; sisters Carrie Roskom and Mom's twin Helen Kraning.

Mom is survived by son David and Pat Cayemberg and daughters Gladys and Darold Powell, Jean and Pete Gering, Diane and Terry Palet and Carol and Mike Pintar; 19 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Mom's Life will be held at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Howard-Suamico location, 1145 Cardinal Lane on Thursday, July 19 from 4 until 8:00 p.m. Parish prayer service 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Visitation continues on Friday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2561 Glendale Ave, Howard from 10 until 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Ralph Merkatoris officiating. Online condolences welcome at www.PfotenhauerFuneralHome.com

Honorary pallbearers will be Mom's grandsons Frank Cayemberg, Dick Palet, Terry Palet, Doug Vanderwalker, Grant Behrendt, Fran Bourassa, Dan DeWitt, Dustin DeWitt and Doug DeWitt.

Thank you to Dr. Bruce Fenster for caring for all of Mom's medical needs and all the help he gave to our family. Thank you also to all of the caring people at Unity Hospice. With all of you at our sides we were able to keep Mom where she truly loved to be.
