    • Betty J. Thomson, 91, De Pere passed on peacefully Saturday afternoon, November 21, 2015. She was born August 19, 1924 to the late Bernard and Petronella (Smits) Bain. On June 5, 1947 she was united in marriage to Herb Thomson at St. Boniface Catholic Church, De Pere. Betty farmed alongside Herb on the family farm; she then went on to work at St. Norbert College for ten years before retiring. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family. Betty loved to read, take walks, and spend time at the family cottage. Betty also loved playing cards with her card group. Her greatest enjoyment came from being a homemaker, whether it be canning, baking bread, gardening, or the time with family that she truly cherished.

      Betty is survived by her children: Gary (Rose) Thomson, Sandy (Bill) Kayser, Bill (Bonnie) Thomson, Chris (Roy Jr.) Seroogy, Kathy (Alan) Vann, and Tim (Special friend Annette) Thomson. She is further survived by 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, her brother Ken (Millie) Bain, and sisters in law: Audrey Bain, Ina Gail Bain, Cheryl Bain, Genny "Skip" (Don) Burroughs. Surviving on Herb's side include, Della (Gene) Speerman, Ceil Heezen, and Dorothy Thomson, and Vi Smits.

      Betty was preceded in death by her husband Herb in 2004, four grandchildren: Jennifer, Timothy, Matthew, and Ashley. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Norman (Rose) Bain, Eunice (Charlie) Greene, Alma (Ernest) DeRuyter, Melvin Bain, Vernon (Millie) Bain, Emmet (Anna Mae) Bain, Al Bain, and Delmar Bain. Preceding her in death in Herb's family include: Bud (Kitty) Thomson, Joe Thomson, Mel Thomson, Adella (Lou) McAbee, Bernice (Jerry) Albers, Agnes (Lambert) Heezen, Lydia (Ray) Wozniak, and Aloysius Smits.

      Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Ave and Suburban Dr. in De Pere after 3:00PM on Tuesday November 24, 2015. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:00PM with Fr. Tim Shillcox O.Praem officiating. Burial will take place on Wednesday morning in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
