Clifford M. Lamers, W5106 Labutzke Dr., Shawano, age 78, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on Saturday, October 2, 1999 following a courageous fight with cancer. He was born June 13, 1921 in Little Chute the son of Theodore and Hattie [Hietpas] Lamers. Cliff was a veteran of World War II, having served four years with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater. On February 20, 1946 he married Celeste Josephs at Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly. Cliff worked at the Kimberly Mill for 42 years until his retirement in 1983 when they moved to their home on Shawano Lake. He especially enjoyed the gatherings at the lake and will be sadly mmissed by his family and friends.
Cliff is survived by his wife of 53 years, Celeste; their children and sppouses; Thomas [Joyce], Appleton; James [Rosalie], Little Chute; Linda [Daniel] Blajeske, Delta Junction, Alaska; Mark [Beverly], Darboy; Karl [Bonnie] Beaver Dam; eleven grandchildren; Sarah and Lisa Lamers, Dawn, Richard and David Lamers, April Blajeske, Walter [Valerie] Blajeski, Lindsey Lamers and Brandon, Bethany and Brenna Lamers; his sister, Eva Conrad, Freedom; sisters in-law; Irene and Marion Lamers, Appleton; step sister; Mary [Bill] Liskow, Appleton; Step sisters in-law; Zeta and Delores; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
Cliff was prceded in death by his mother and father; his brothers; Robert, Richard, Ivo and LeRoy; step mother, Anna [Mullen] Lamers; step brothers; Emory and Francis Mullen; step sister, Ruth Plamann.
The funeral Liturgy for Cliff will be at 6 p.m. at St. Martin Catholic Church, Cecil with Father Len Evers celebrating. Burial will be in Holy Name Parish Cemetery, Kimberly. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 3 p.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
Zastrow Funeral Home, Cecil is assisting the family with arrangements.
