Nehring, Evelyn B. Evelyn B. Nehring, age 85, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 8, 2006, in Appleton. She was born March 26, 1921, to John H. and Mary (Timmers) Schmidt in the town of Woodville. She married Herman Nehring on June 27, 1942. Evelyn was a food service worker at Appleton Medical Center for 21 years before retiring in 1984. She was a member of Christian Ladies of St. Therese Church. She did volunteer work at the church and at the Salvation Army. Evelyn will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Evelyn is survived by a son, Ronald Nehring, San Jose, CA; two daughters, Janet (Carl) Kopischkie, Sun City Center, FL, and Beverly (Tom) Henderson, Livonia, MI; son-in-law, Daniel Vandenberg (Zinnia), Kansas; two brothers, John (Nancy) Schmidt, Kaukauna and Donald (Margie) Schmidt of Crivitz; a sister, Harriet Christiansen of Racine; a sister-in-law, Dot Schmidt, Kaukauna; four grandchildren: Michael (Paula) Kopischkie, Germantown and Patrick (Carrie) Kopischkie, Oconomowoc; Eric Henderson (fiancee Lori Gonzales), Dallas, TX and Ryan Henderson (Rene Murray), Chicago, IL; two great-grandchildren, Melina and Carter Kopischkie. Evelyn is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her dear friend of 35 years, Reuben Schaefer and family.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Judith Vandenberg; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Earl and Marie Hackbarth, Theresa and Victor Holewinski, Rosella and Harry Paczkowski; a brother, Alphonse Schmidt, and a brother-in-law, Tom Christiansen.
Funeral services for Evelyn will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, 2006, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 213 E. Wisconsin Avenue, Appleton, with Fr. Bill Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the church.
