    • Gerald "Jerry" Schuh

Freedom - Jerry S. Schuh, age 80, of Freedom, passed away as the result of a tragic automobile accident on December 10, 2017. He was born on June 12, 1937, son of the late Aloysius and Genevieve (Schmidt) Schuh. On October 4, 1958, he married Beverly Coenen. He and Bev were blessed with 59 wonderful years together and five children.

Jerry had a long and successful career at Miller Electric holding many positions including manager of Tech Sales eventually retiring in 1999 as an account executive. His work took him all over the world and through the years Bev was able to accompany him on many trips. In addition to his career at Miller he also owned Schuh TV and Scrambler Sales visiting many area homes to the pleasure of parents and children alike when the TV worked again!

Jerry could fix anything, even if it meant "Jerry-rigging" it. To this day family and friends still relied on him to help with any project. Jerry was well-known as a prankster and found great joy in pulling a fast one. In his younger years he enjoyed playing sports rising to the level of semi-pro football for the Manitowoc Chiefs and in 1997 was inducted into the semi-pro football hall of fame.

Jerry was very involved in his community. He was an honorary member of the Freedom Fire Department, currently serving on their board of directors. He was also a very active member of the Freedom Lions Club. Most important to Jerry was his family. He was most happy when spending time with family and friends.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Bev; children: Karen Kaphingst, Kathy (Marv) Spierings, Karol Peterson, Kevin Schuh and Konnie Schuh; grandchildren: Nikki(Mike) Vesperman, Erin (Jude) Simons, Amy (Pete) Fitschen, Brent (fiancé Maggie) Spierings, Brittany Frank, Brooke Spierings, Jill (Cory) Ihde, Ben Peterson, Ryan (MaKayla) Schuh, Alissa Schuh and Riley Schuh; 8 great grandchildren: Evie, Miller, Natalie, Marshall, Brieyel, Bristyl, Morgan and Camden; siblings: Merle (Sharon) Schuh, Jean (Al) Tiedt, Darlene Haase, Bill (Lynda) Schuh, Pat (Al) Hansen, Joyce (Al) Garvey, Dave (Kay) Schuh, Rick (Carolyn) Schuh, Nancy (Randy) Smith and Joe (Darla) Schuh; brothers and sisters-in-law: Betty (Carl) Evers, Carol (Neil) Jadin, Betty Mato, Gary (Karen) Coenen and Dave (Jonnell) Coenen; many other family members and special friends.

It also brings some comfort knowing that countless people's lives will be changed for the better because of Jerry's generous decision to be an organ and tissue donor.
