    • Rose Marie Harke (Resch) passed away unexpectedly May 5, 2011, surrounded by her family. Rose was born January 29, 1938, in Menasha, WI to Hazel and Richard Resch. She was one of thirteen children. She met Roger Harke in 1956 and after a short courtship they were married at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Kimberly in 1958. They enjoyed a wonderful 52 years of marriage.

      Rose was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved taking care of her family and always put them first. At every holiday she generously prepared her family's favorite foods. She also enjoyed baking wonderful desserts, canning fruits and vegetables, and making jams and jellies. Rose and Roger enjoyed numerous trips to Europe and many vacations across the United States. They also loved to spend time at their cottage on Shawano Lake.

      Rose is survived by her four sons: Ron (Nancy) Appleton, Mark (Randall) Houston, TX, Paul (Jill) Wausau, Lee (Jennifer) Harke , Greenville. Rose was especially proud of her four grandchildren: Claudia, Erik (Ron/Nancy), Kenna, (Lee/Jennifer) and India (Paul/Jill) Harke. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Dick (Janice) Resch, Don (Adrienne) Resch, Tom (Yvonne) Resch, David Resch, Gary (Sandy)Resch, Ann DeGroot, Sandra (Ken) DeGoey, Carolyn Resch, and Jeanne (Wayne)Smith; brother- in- law, John Anholzer; and many nieces and nephews. She is further survived by her husband's sister, Judy (Dave) Williamson; brothers: John (Alice) Harke and David (Marilyn) Harke; and many nieces and nephews.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Hazel Resch; her sisters: Joan Anholzer and Marilyn Resch; her brother, Michael Resch; nephews: Gary Resch, Jr. and Rick DeGroot; brother-in-law, Gene DeGroot; sister-in-law, Marge Resch; and her father and mother-in-law, Fred and Margaret Harke.

      Special thank you to Pastor Szep for his multiple visits and spiritual guidance and to the staff at Theda Clark Hospital and Hospice Care for their attentive care and personal support.

      The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2011 at MOUNT CALVARY EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, N8728 S. Coop Rd, Menasha, South on Hwy N, right on Woodland Dr. before Hwy 10 roundabout, left on S Coop Rd., with Rev. Ronald Szep officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Monday from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Rose to Mt. Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church.
