      Age 40, was called home to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 17, 1999 surrounded by her family. Julie was born February 5, 1959 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Kurt G. Hartstern and Ruth M. Hartstern of Appleton. On June 16, 1978 she married Jeff Meulemans in Kaukauna and the Lord blessed their marriage with two sons, Jason and Justin. From 1979 until her health failed in 1995 Julie worked as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. She was a member of the American Association of Respiratory Care, the National Board of Respiratory Care, and the Association for Brain Tumor research. Julie was a faithful member of Holy Cross Parish and served as a parent volunteer in the Kaukauna Schools. She was proud to be the longest surviving of the 'I Can Cope' cancer support group at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Julie enjoyed swimming, biking, walking, racing events and her her Precious Moment collection. She was also happy to be and avid spectator fan at her sons soccer and baseball games.

      Survivors include her husband, Jeff Meulemans, Kaukauna, her two sons, Jason and Justin, Meulemans, both at home; her mother, Ruth M. Hartstern, Appleton; three brothers, Daniel [Joan] Hartstern, Kenosha; Steven [Brenda] Hartstern, Green Bay; Jonathon Hartstern, Appleton; two sisters, Carla [Lindy] Euclid, Appleton; Lori [Timothy] Moy, Appleton; her Godchildren, Todd Euclide, Nichole Meulemans, Craig Siegmann and Ben Moy; Jeff's parents, Ralph and Mary Alice Meulemans, Kaukauna; brothers and sisters, Ron [Nancy] Meulemans, New Haven, Connecticut; Donna Foshee and her fiance, Schott Robach, Kaukauna; Bob [Sandy] Meulemans, Wrightstown; Carol [Dale] Mignon, Little Chute; Diane [Bob] Vandermause, Ashwaubenon; Jerry [Barb] Meulemans, Kaukauna; also survived by many nieces, nephews and many friends.

      She was preceded in death by her father, Kurt G. Harstern.

      The funeral liturgy will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 1999 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna with Father Jack Mullarkey officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Fargo Funeral Home, Kaukauna, and again on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
