    • Edward W. Klarner, Kimberly, age 92, died Sunday November 9, 2014. He was born in Seymour on August 9, 1922 to the late Edward and Christina (Ullman) Klarner. Ed married Elizabeth "Betty" Hermus at St. Joseph Church in the Town of Oneida on May 21, 1947. She preceded him in death on April 17, 2000. Ed moved to Kimberly in 1953, where he built the home he lived in for 61 years. He retired from Kimberly Clark in 1987 after 40 years of service.

      Ed entered into the U.S. Army on June 12, 1945 and was discharged on November 14, 1946. Being a veteran played a large role in his life. Ed joined the William Verhagen American Legion Post 60 in 1957 and the Color Guard in 1988. He was an active member of the Post, serving as past Commander and Chaplain. He was also a member of the Kaukauna V.F.W. Post 3319.

      Ed enjoyed woodworking, fishing, square dancing and card playing. He also enjoyed reading the paper every day. Ed was a member of Moose Lodge in Kaukauna.

      Ed is survived by his children: Larry (Melanie) of Geneva, OH; Donald (Corinne Childs) of Encinitas, CA; Thomas (Cora) of Titusville, FL; and Barbara (Thomas) Dorn of Kaukauna; grandchildren: Greg (Lisa) Klarner, Devin and Bryce Klarner, Shannon (Al) Immel, Joseph (April) Palmer, Melissa (Jeffrey) Krueger, Valerie Janson (special friend Chuck Carafa), Nicole (Brian) Brooks, Rachelle (Keith) Fields, Christopher (Mae) Rousseau, Michelle (Craig) Keeling, Tina (special friend Kevin Ahearn), Eric (Annett), Adam, Angela and Saul (special friend Shana) Beach, Ben (Robyn) and Tyler (Robyn) Dorn; 31 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brother: Melvin (Nancy) Klarner; sisters: Marie De Keyser and Rosella Laabs; sisters-in-law: Gladys and Lucy Klarner, Rose (Harold) Hendricks and Evelyn Hermus; and many nieces and nephews.

      He is further survived by his special friend of 14 years, Marion Oudenhoven; her children: Keith (Pam), Duane (Bets) and Bruce (Malynda); her daughter-in-law: Mary Oudenhoven; her grandchildren: Amy, Carrie, James, Molly and Elessa Oudenhoven, Tammy (Keith) Spialek, Kyle (Sarah) Oudenhoven and Jordan (Kelly) Yingling

      In addition to his parents and wife, Elizabeth, Ed was preceded in death by his grandson: Chad Anthony Beach; sister: Mildred (Clyde) Campbell; brothers: Robert, Norman (Betty), Herbert and infant Norbert Klarner; brother-in-law: Robert Laabs; and Marion's children: Leon Oudenhoven and Shirley Vander Heiden.

      Visitation will be held Thursday November 13, 2014 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) from 4:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) from 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen will officiate. Military rites conducted by the William Verhagen American Legion Post 60 will immediately follow. Committal Holy Name Cemetery, Kimberly. A memorial is being established.
