Jerry W. Garvey

Formerly of 2331 E. Evergreen Dr. Appleton, lately of W1182 Washington Lake Dr. Shawano, age 66, died at 4:07 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 1988, at Appleton Medical Center. He was born March 31, 1922, in Freedom, the son of the late Henry and Josephine [Weyenberg] Garvey. On May 1, 1954 he married June Diestler at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Appleton. He was a member of the AARP, the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 458, of Appleton, and Divine Saviours Lutheran Church of Shawano.

He was survived by his wife, June, of Shawano; four brothers, Vance and Delores Garvey Sr., Percy and Beverly Garvey, Milo 'Sonny' and Alice Garvey; all of Freedom; Vernon and Emilie Garvey, Stephensville; two sisters and a brother in-law, Alma Weyenberg, Little Chute; Shirley and Lester Giesen, Appleton; a brother in-law, Joseph Romenesko, Freedom; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Elvera Romenesko; a brother, Lowell Garvey; a brother in-law, Clarence Weyenberg.

Complete funeral services will be held Saturday, December 17, 1988, at 1 p.m. at Mount Olice Lutheran Church, Appleton, with the Rev. James Naumann of Divine Saviors Lutheran Church, Shawana officiating. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton Friday, from 6-9p.m. and at the church on Saturday noon until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.

Tuesday, April, 2003 Depatie, Clara Weyenberg nee Fox Little Chute

Age 92, died Sunday, March 30, 2003 in King. She was born June 28, 1910 in Freedom; daughter of the late Peter and Nellie (Kortz) Fox. Clara married George T. Weyenberg in 1930 and he preceded her in death October 21, 1970. She married Fred Depatie, September 27, 1974 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute, where she was a lifetime member. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Little Chute.

Clara is survived by her husband, Fred Depatie; four children: Thomas (Karla) Weyenberg, Little Chute; Angela (Joseph) Van Bakel, Amarillo, Texas; Rita Powell, Navarino, Wisconsin; Lori (Donald) DeGroot, Little Chute; a step-son, Mark (Rose) Weyenberg and a stepdaughter, Jane (Ervin) Van Dyke, both of Little Chute; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; six step grandchildren, 20 step great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law: Hattie Fox and Dora Hogan; two brothers-in-law: Matt (Virginia) and Henry Weyenberg. Clara was preceded in death by three brothers: George, Edward and Henry (Josephine) Fox; a sister, Cecelia (Edward) Rosenthal; four sisters-in-law: Mary Van Dera, Frances Weyenberg, Rose (Chris) Vanden Heuvel and Ann (Peter) Dercks.

Funeral services will be 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute with Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogan officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Age 68, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday evening October 29, 2003 at the Berlin Memorial Hospital. She was born April 11, 1935 in Calumet County, WI daughter of Leonard J. and Marie T. (Hopfensperger) Seidling. She married Donald A. Disterhaft on June 3, 1952 at Saint Michaels Catholic Church of Berlin. Mary Jane attended the Pine River State and Fountain Valley Grade Schools near Poy Sippi, WI and the Berlin High School. She had worked at the Sand Knitting Mills of Berlin from October of 1957 thru January of 1990 as a knitter, she then joined Ripon Award Jackets of Berlin as a stitcher in May of 1990 and retired on May 26, 2000. She was a faithful member of the All Saints Catholic Parish of Berlin and the Ladies Sodality of the Parish. She loved to crochet and sew at home and also needlework and playing cards.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Donald; a daughter, Virginia (Eugene Sr.) Wrench, Hartford, WI; three sons: Peter (Sherry) Disterhaft, Clemens (Ranine) Disterhaft and Patrick (June) Disterhaft, all of Berlin. Further survived by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, a brother, Victor (Carol) Seidling, Neshkoro; a sister-in-law, Jeanne Seidling, Wyoming; also nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Lee, George and John; and a son, also a grandchild and a great-grandchild. According to Mary Janes wishes cremation has taken place.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at 11 a.m. from Saint Michaels Catholic Church of Berlin with the Rev. Jerome Maksvytis officiating and interment will follow in Saint Michaels Cemetery in Berlin.
Relatives and friends may call at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of Downtown Berlin on Tuesday only from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. before we leave for the services at the church.

Formerly of Bear Creek, age 81, died Wednesday, January 24, 1990 at Greentree Health Care Center in Clintonville after a long illness.

Survivors include three sons; Aloys [Alice], New London; Lyle [Bonnie], Clintonville; David [Karmella], Bear Creek; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, a great great grandchild, three brothers; Joseph VanLanen; Edward VanLanen, both of Sobieski, Wisconsin; John VanLanen Jr., Milwaukee; three sisters; Alberta [Edward] Purdy, Milwaukee; Margerie [Frand] Kuss, Little Suamico; Reta [Edwin] Vincient, South Chase, Wisconsin.

In addition to her husband, Lambert, she was preceded in death by two daughters; Mary at birth and LaVerne Ellenbecker; four grandchildren; Jon Sanderfoot, Kristine Sanderfoot, Skipper Sanderfoot, Debbie Ellenbecker and a great grandchild, Timothy Sanderfoot.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 1990 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Bear Creek with Father Dennis Worzalla officiating. Burial will take place in the spring in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday [tonight] and again after 8 a.m. Saturday at the Rhodes & Beil Funeral Home in Cllintonville. Mrs. Edward T. Ellenbecker [La Verne] Bear Creek

Age 49, died Sunday, afternoon after a short illness. She was born February 1, 1930 in Little Chute to Mr. and Mrs. Lambert Sanderfoot. She resided in the Little Chute area until 1954 whe she moved to the Bear Creek area. She was united in marriage to Edward A. Ellenbecker September 25, 1948 in Little Chute. Mrs. Ellenbecker was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers Society. She was a librarian at St. Mary Catholic School.

Survivors include her husband, Edward; two daughters; Mrs. Roy [Donna] Ferg Jr., Bear Creek; Mrs. Paul [Judy] Arnold, Weyaywega; a son, Bill, Appleton; six grandchildren; her mother; Mrs. Esther Sanderfoot, Bear Creek.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah, and her father, Lambert Sanderfoot. The complete funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Bear Creek, with the Rev. Joseph Shinners officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may cll at the Heuer, Siever, Rhodes and Beil Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday. Tony Oudenhoven, Former Kimberly Trustee, Succum

Anthony A. 'Tony' Oudenhoven, 77, who served as a Village of Kimberly Trustee from 1948-1956 died unexpectedly Friday morning, May 16, 1986, at his home, 148 N. Wilson St., Kimberly.
Funeral services were held at 12 noon Monday, May 19, 1986, at Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly, with the Rev. Msgr. Carl Steiner officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery.

Born April 15, 1909, in Tagus, North Dakota, he was the son of the late Theodore and Georgina (Vander Velden) Oudenhoven and had lived in Kimberly most of his life. He was employed by Kimberly-Clark Corp., Kimberly Mill for 35 years prior to his retirement in May of 1971. Mr. Oudenhoven was a past Village Board Trustee, a Director of the Kimberly Recreation Ass., a past member of the Kimberly Golden Agers, a member of the National Guard, past president of the Kimberly Retirees Bowling League, and a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, bowler and golfer.

Survivors include his wife, Fern (Wiesler) Oudenhoven; six daughters and five sons in-law, Alice and Gene Jansen and JoAnn and Jerry Lamers, all of Little Chute; Pat and Greg Van Zeeland of Darboy; Mary and Butch Malsavage of Kaukauna; Gail and Terry Jasmer of Withee; and Jean Tourville of Combined Locks; a son and daughter in-law, Roger and Kay Oudenhoven of Kimberly; five sisters and a brother in-law, Ann Van Kessel of Little Chute; Martha Van Hout of Kimberly; Frances Boehme of Delavan; Rosella Robertson of Wonewoc; and Christian and Pat Schulzte of Appleton; 19 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, John, Pete, Hank and Frank; and a sister, Harriet. Pallbearers were Mark and Doug Jansen, Bill Oudenhoven, George Schwalbach, Lance Lamers and Dan Malsavage. The Jansen Fargo Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

St. Nicholas Rites Held Friday for Jacob Van Camp Sr.

Jacob Van Camp Sr. of Freedom, age 95, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 1996, at Outagamie County Health Center. He was born January 23, 1901 in Freedom and farmed there all his life. He married Regina Schuh on November 26, 1929 and she preceded him in death on September 17, 1986. Jake and Regina were lifetime members of ST. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom. Both were baptized, married and buried at St. Nicholas Catholic Church.

Survivors include four daughters and sons in-law, Aurella and Robert Coenen of Freedom, Virginia and William Herrick of Appleton; Ann and Clair Forseth of Algoma; Mary and Dan Kreutzberg of Minnesota; two sons and daughters in-law, Jacob Jr. 'Dumpy' and Darlene Van Camp of Freedom; James and Janice Van Camp of Freedom; 41 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Van Camp of Freedom.

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Anne [Weyenberg] Van Camp; a grandson, John Coenen; a sister and her spouse, Nellie and Mike Whitman; five brothers and their spouses, John and Minnie; Frank and Lena; Hank and Minnie; Babe and Marie; and Willie Van Camp; a sister in-law, Deb Van Camp.

The funeral service was held Friday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom with the Rev. Dennis Ryan officiating. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery. The Fargo Funeral Home, Kaukauna assisted the family with arrangements.

Concelebrated Mass Friday For C. J. VanDeHey
A concelebrated mass for Clement J. 'Clem' VanDeHey, 68, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Cross Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen, the Rev. John Schuh and the Rev. Robert Kabat concelebrating. Mr. VanDeHey of 509 Diedrich St., died Tuesday morning, January 12, at the Kaukauna Community Hospital following a lingering illiness. He was born March 23, 1913, in Wrightstown, and had lived in the Kaukauna area most of his married life. He had been employed at the Thilmany Pulp and Paper as a first class carpenter in the maintenance department for 28 1/2 years. He retired in 1969. A member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mr. VanDeHey had served as a church usher, and also was a member of the parish council. He was also a member of the Thilmany Quarter Century Club.

Survivors include his wife, Colette Van Lanen VanDeHey; two daughters and sons in-law, Ethel and James Van Der Burgt of Kaukauna, and Joanne and Dr. Antone Grosso of Portland, Oregon; six brothers, Nick and Leonard, both of Little Chute, David of Kimberly, Ernest of Kaukauna, Amos of Wrightstown, and Gordon of Freedom; four sisters, Mrs. Nick (Gertrude) Vanden Berg of Freedom, Mrs. Martin (Delia) Lamers and Mrs. Wilbert (Irene) Verhagen, both of Appleton, and Mrs. Norbert (Loraine) Weyenberg of Hollandtown. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Lisa, Brenda, and Michael Van Der Burgt, and Annette, Steven, Michael, John, and Susie Grosso, and nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, three sisters, and one grandchild Michelle Van Der Burgt.

Friends may call at the Fargo Funeral Home, Kaukauna, after 4 p.m. today (Thursday) and Friday morning preceding the funeral mass at Holy Cross. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 this evening at the funeral home. A memorial is being established for Holy Cross Catholic Church.

Larry D. Vander Wyst

Age 35, died at 3:49 am Thursday, November 19, 1987 as the result of cerebral aneurysm. Larry was born September 2, 1952 in Appleton and hed been a Kaukauna resident all of his life. Larry graudated from Kaukauna High School Class of 1970, attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and graduated from the Outagamie County Teacher's College. Larry was employed by Appleton Papers Lox Mill for 13 years where he was a chief of the Fire Brigade and was a Union Stewart. Larry was active in Boy Scouting all his life, having recieved numerous awards including being the first Eagle Scout from St. Aloysius Troup #104 and the Order of the Arrow. Larry was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, was active in the Kaukauna Meals on Wheels Program; and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.

Larry is survived by his wife of 11 1/2 years, Ann (Knight) Vander Wyst, he was a loving father to his two children, Danielle and Travis both at home. He is further survived by his parents, Elmer and Mary Vander Wyst, Kaukauna; his brother, Frank Vander Wyst, Kaukauna; four sisters and three brothers in-law; Linda and Steve Lichtenwalner, Germantown, Wi.; Bonnie and Jeff Carriveau, Appleton; Edie Vander Wyst, Kaukauna; Ann and Jif Vetter, Milwaukee; his mother in-law; Rosella Knight, Appleton; and is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his father in-law; Edward Knight in 1978; a nephew, Christopher Santkuyl and a brother in-law; Edward 'Butch' Knight.

The complete concelebrated funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 21, 1987 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church on Main St., Kaukauna with Reverends John Hephner and Ronald Schneider officiating. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home 537 N. Superior St., from 4-8 p.m. Friday and after 8 a.m. Saturday until the cortege leaves for the church. The prayer and scripture service will be at 7 p.m. Friday.

Age 68, passed away Monday evening, January 8, 1990 at Appleton Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born September 1921 at Rt. 1, Greenleaf. He was the son of the late Frank and Katherine [Vander Heiden] Van Lanen. He was married to Mayme Vande Yacht on May 31, 1945 at St. John Catholic Church at Little Chute. He was employed at Appleton Papers Combined Locks Mill for 43 prior to his retirement in 1983. He was a member of Combined Locks Quarter Century Club. He was the retreat promoter for 35 years at Monte Alverno Retreat House for the Mens Retreat of the Little Chute area. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Jacob Coppus Post 258.

Age 71, died at 8:30AM Sunday February 18, 1990 after a lingering illness. He was the son of the late Henry and Bardine (Tiesling) VanDeHey. He was born May 18, 1918 in the town of Holland. He retired in 1980 after 35 years of service as a bookkeeper for Schouten Oil Co. Kaukauna. He was pass secretary for the St. John's Cemetery Association and an usher for many years for St. John's Church. He was an avid cribbage player and Packer fan. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the American Legion Jacob-Coppus Post 258, Knights of Columbis Council 1033 of Kaukauna and a member of the AARP. He was a veteran of World War II.

Kristen Wiener and Jason Grode, along with their parents, are pleased to announce their engagement and upcoming marriage. Kristen is the daughter of Chuck and Baarb Wiener of Alexandria, Minnesota. Jason is the son of Stephen and Jeanne Grode of Nashville, Tennessee and grandson of Beverly Jacques of Neenah.

Kristen is a 1997 graduate of Jefferson High School in Alexandria, Minnesota and a 2002 graduate of St. Cloud State University with a degree of elementary education. She currently teaches special education in Cedar Grove, New Jersey.

Jason is a 1996 graduate of Appleton East High School, Wisconsin and a 2001 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Turf and Soil Management. He is an assistant superintendent of Grounds at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, New Jersey.

An October 22 wedding is planned at Calvary Lutheran in Alexandria. A reception and dance will follow at the Alexandria Golf Club.

Weyenberg, Floyd 'Cha'

Floyd 'Cha' Weyenberg, age 77, Larsen, died Sunday, July 24, 2005 at home. He was born May 26, 1928 in Kaukauna, Wisc. to the late George and Josephine (Wildenberg) Weyenberg. Floyd served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1946 until 1951 being honorably discharged with the Victory Medal. He married Margaret Dorsey on September 30, 1950 in Appleton. They made their home in Kaukauna; Caledonia, Wisc.; and in 1990 Floyd and Margaret moved to Larsen. Margaret preceded Floyd in death on March 17, 2000. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Winneconne.

Floyd is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Tammy Weyenberg, of Caledonia, Wis.; Peter and Marianne Weyenberg, of DeBary, Fla.; Tony and Becky Weyenberg, of Cartersville, Ga.; George and Jane Weyenberg, of Caledonia; one daughter and son-in-law, Coletta and Peter Heinzlemann, of Caledonia; 12 grandchildren; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Pearl and Epe VanEpern, Elaine Brown; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Don and Barb Weyenberg, Jerry and Kay Weyenberg, Lucille Weyenberg; and many devoted friends and family.

Along with his parents and wife, Floyd was also preceded in death by eight children, Lynn, Douglas, Barbara, John, Margaret, Michael, Joseph, and James; one granddaughter, Nicole Lynn Heinzlemann; and one brother, Melvin “Lefty” Weyenberg.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Winneconne, with the Rev. Leroy Smet officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna.

Hilda M. Wallenfang, 81, of 1220 Cherry St., died Friday, July 26, 1991 after a short illness at a local hospital. She was bor September 5, 1909 in the Town of Scott to the late Hugh and Harriet [De Leers] Van Laanen. She married Gordon Wallenfang in 1935 and he preceded her in death August 20, 1967. She was a member of St. Willebrord parish.

She was the mother of Mrs. Boniface (Ann) Kempen Rt.. 3 Kaukauna. Mrs. Vander Zanden died under circumstances involved with a serious injury suffered by her hu sband while the two were visiting at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Mary Drephal, 430 S. Wa shington, St. Kimberly. Vander Zanden, 66, was reportedly standing on a the rear of a car parked in the garage and wa s attempting to pull some electrical cables from the attic when he apparently fell breakin g a garage window and severely cutting his arm on the glass. Mrs. Vander Zanden went across the street to Schmidt Oil Co. to call and ambulance. On her re turn, she collapsed on the kitchen floor. Death was caused by a acute heart attack. The husband was treated with emergency surgery at St. Elizabeth hospital. Mrs. Vander Zande n was born June 12, 1911 in Holland and was a member of St. Paul Ladies' Society of Combine d Locks. Age 89, died Saturday, November 28, 1992, following a short illness. She was born in Sherwood on January 8, 1903, the daughter of the late Hubert and Ameilia [Hopfensperger] Nettekoven. On November 16, 1920, Della married Walter Merkes and lived in Appleton until 1936 when they moved to a farm in Grand Chute. Della lived there until 1988 when she mover to her home on Glendale. Walter preceded her in death in 1964. She was a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.

Survivors include two daughters and sons in-law, Lilas [Glen] Van Straten and Joyce [Robert] Van Fossen, all of Appleton; and four sons and three daughters in-law, Kenneth [Ann] Merkes and James [Mary] Merkes, all of Appleton, Norbert [Carmen] Merkes, Shiocton, and Richard Merkes, Greenleaf. Della is survived by 24 grandchildren, 37 great grandchldren and many nieces and nephews.

Age 86, died peacefully at his home with his family at his side on Thursday, April 18, 1996. He was born July 5, 1909, in Sullivan, Wi. son of the late Peter and Helen (Van Ert) Weyenberg. He married Anna Hoks on February 4, 1931, At St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom. He had been employed at Kieffer Cheese Factory, Freedom, prior to his employment at Kimberly Clark, Kimberly Mills until his retirement in 1966. Buck loved fishing, playing cards, hunting, tinkering in his garage, and relaxing on his sun porch. He was a member Holy Name Catholic Church. the Quarter Century Club of Kimberly Clark and the Golden Ages.

He survived by his wife of 65 years. 48 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren, three bothers and sisters in-law; John Weyenberg, Appleton; Sylvester Weyenberg, Kimberly; Harold and Roseanne Weyenberg, Kimberly; Edith Weyenberg, Zion, Illinois; two sisters; Dorothy Fox, Agnes Du Pont, both of Kimberly; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Carol Ann in 1935, Ramona Louise Stark in 1992, a granddaughter, Rita, two brothers; Ben and Louis Weyenberg, a sister in-law, Bertha Weyenberg, two brothers in-law, Joseph Du Pont and Fred Fox.

Doris was born in Kaukauna Wisconsin November 8, 1893, the daughter of Martin and Hendrina (Jacobs) Weyenberg, and was a member of St. Augustine Cathedral and St. Mary's Catholic and V F W Post #827 Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband George H. Vosters.

Doris is survived by her children and their spouses, Cyril and Jane Vosters, Floyd Vosters and Joan and Robert Peeters, all of Kalamazoo; 18 grandchildren; serveral great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Doris Vosters did push ups into her 80's, mowed her lawn, and painted her house into her 90's, and baked cookies and bread past her 100th birthday. She died Thursday at the age of 101. 'She was a remarkable gal,' said her daughter in-law, Jane Vosters of Kalamazoo.
Born in 1893, she never drove a car but walked nearly every place she needed to go. Even up to her 100th year, she volunteered at Borgess Nursing Home, helping with the daily bingo games for the seniors there. A member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, she also helped patients at the hospital at Fort Custerd according to her son, Cyril. She was a member of St. Augustine Cathedral and St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Preceded in death by her husband, George, she is survived by her children and their spouses, Cyril and Jane Vosters, Floyd Vosters and Joan and Robert Peeters, all of Kalamazoo, 18 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. John P. Hopfensperger, 60, 313 9th St. Kaukauna, died at 3:20 Friday afternoon in New London, after a long illness. She was born in Kaukauna, May, 5, 1892 and lived there all of her life. She belonged to St. Mary's Church, it's Altar Society and Sacred Heart Court, Women's Catholic Order of Foresters.

Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home from 7 o'clock tonight until 8:30 Monday morning when the cortege will form. The rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock tonight and Sunday night. The Rev. Joseph Esdespsky will say the funeral mass at 9 o'clock Monday morning in St. Mary Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Age 81, died on Thursday, April 29, 1999, at Colony Oaks Care Center. She was born in Tigerton, Wisconsin, on November 22, 1917, to the late William and Laura [rickert] Weyenberg. Mary married Lawrence Kemkes in October of 1944. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mary worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 32 years and she loved to play cards, bingo and dining out.

She is survived by her brother, Alfred Weyenberg, Kimberly; brothers in-lae, John [Shirley] Kemkes, Appleton; and Al Owen, Oregon; sisters in-law, Adaline Kneice, Delores [Dallas] Curtis and Helen Vanden Heuvel, all of Appleton; special friends, Dolores Schmidt, Appleton and Dave Betters, Kimberly; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Kemkes; a brother, Edward Weyenberg, and a sister, Loraine Gwen.

Eleanor Vande Heuvel

She was called to her heavenly reward on Friday, November 17, 2000. She was born on May 10, 1917, in Little Chute to Henry and Marie [Van Gompel] Verbeten. Eleanor was a graduate of both St. John Grade School and High School. On May 30, 1941 she married her forever love, Bob Vanden Heuvel, in 1947 they moved to Wrightstown, and together operated Van's Food Market until 1974. Eleanor was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Wrightstown, where she participated in Christian Mothers. Mom was also a member of Wrightstown' American Legion Auxiliary Post 436. Eleanor spent her entire life helping others, starting with her grandmother, and later in life taking care of her mother, Marie, then taking her father in-law Joe into her and Bob's home. The couple enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, and spending time with their wonderful friends and family.

Her children and grandchildren were the most precious people in her life. She is survived by her children; Karen and Tom Zirbel; Connie and David Schwalenberg; Tom and Jeanne Vanden Heuvel; and grandchildren; David and Lynn Zirbel; Sarah Zirbel and fiance Bob Schisel; Anna, Leah and Maria Schwalenberg; Emily Vanden Heuvel and special friend Cory Promer; and Liz Vanden Heuvel. Not to be forgotten are her sister; Millie Oskar; brother; Jerry, and sisters in-law; Jo Ann Verbeten; sisters in-law; Helen Van Vreede; Wynne Vanden Heuvel; and many mieces and nephews.

The family wished to thank her special friends, including her card clubs, her first Tuesday visitors, Bill and Ethel Mitchler; her special angel Jan Johnson; her co-grandman Grandma Schwally; and her Legion Auxiliary friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bob; ;her parents; brother, Teddy; sister; Angie, mother adn father in-law; Joe and Anna Vanden Heuvel; brothers in-law; Kenny Jansen; Harvey Van Lankveld; Don Oskar; Vic Van Vreede; Jim Vanden Heuvel; Clarence Vanden Heuvel; Tommy Vanden Heuvel and godson; Paul Oskar.

It wasn't until later years that her children realized she slept. Between working in the store, sewing for her children, working with the auxiliary, spoiling her grandkids, and having fun with her husbands and friends, when did she have time to sleep? Sleep in peace now. Mom.

He was born November 19, 1938 in Antigo, the son of Joseph and Alice [Arndt] Seggelink. He married Patricia McDonnell on June 29, 1963 in Oshkosh. Lee was employed by the City of Neenah for over 30 years before his retirement in 1989. He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah. He was a U.S. Army National Guard veteran having served with the 32nd Division, 127th Infantry, retiring after 22 years of service. He was a member of the Neenah Veterans of Foreigh Wars Post No. 10893; a member and service officer of the American Legion Hawley-Dieckhoff Post No. 33 and a member of the American Legion Winnebago County 40 et 8 group.

Lee is survived by his wife; Patricia; a daughter and son in-law Jean Anne and Kerry Hamilton, Neenah; a son; James Michael, at home; a brother and sister in-law; Fred and Patricia, Medford, Oregon; a sister; Mary Seggelink, Madison; his father and mother in-law; Charles and Anne McDonnell, Oshkosh; a sister in-law; Mary [Robert] Gogolewski, Stoughton.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda Seggelink.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Motorcycle Association and he was a U.S.A.C. racing official for many years.

Survivors include his mother, Ann Lamers VanKessel, Little Chute; four children; David Lamers, Milwaukee; Vickie Lamers, Lone Grove, Oklahoma; Jim and Linda Edwards, Hartford, Wisconsin; Jan and Lisa Lamers, Random Lake, Wisconsin; a brother, Anthony Lamers, Little Chute; three sisters; Dolores and Marvin Gonnering, Milwaukee; Rosemary Sell, Little Chure; Armella Gerondale, Green Bay; six grandchildren.

He was precededed in death by his father, Jake G. Lamers and a brother, David. Elaine J. Merrill, age 81, of Kaukauna, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, October 1, 2005. She was born on April 3, 1924 in Little Chute, daughter of the late William and Roseanne (Williams) Wildenberg. Elaine married James Merrill and he preceded her in death. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Kaukauna. Elaine enjoyed her Thursday card club and trips to Oneida. Mrs. Merrill drove school bus for Kobussen for 20 years and her smiling face will always be remembered while tending bar at Schuler’s Shack.

She is survived by her daughter, Toni Egan and special friend Brian Weiss, Kaukauna; a grandson, Shane Egan; brother, Dan Wildenberg, Combined Locks; sister-in-law, Lori (Don) Phillips, Combined Locks; special friend, Pauline “Punk” Schuler; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bill and a sister-in-law, Carol Wildenberg.

Age 91, formerly of Little Chute, died Sunday, October 22, 1995 at Century Oaks in Menasha. He was born in Little Chute on April 28, 1904 the son of Mathew and Catherine (Vosters) Verkuilen. On August 7, 1928 he was united in marriage to the former Miss Veronica Sigl. Following their marriage the couple lived in Little Chute. Tony worked for Kimberly Clark until 1946 at which time he started his own repair shop in Little Chute and owned and operated it until he retired in 1967 when he and Veronica moved to Pickerel. They resided there ever since. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pickerel and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years; two sons; Jim (Corrine), Pickerel and John, Appleton; three daughters; Marion (Bob) Smaxwill, Appleton; Peggy Eggert, Appleton; Judy (Bob) Payne, Neenah; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; a brother; Alvin (Karlene) Verkuilen, Winneconne; a sister in-law, Viola Verkuilen, Kaukauna; many other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Vander Zanden on July 31, 1952, and he preceded her in death on September 9, 1980. Mom loved and was loved many. She enjoyed being a wife and mother and spending time with her grandchildren. She graduated from St John High School in 1953 and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Oshkosh, in 1956. She married Joe Kronzer of Oshkosh in 1956. Until her illness she was employed at Howard County General Hospital in Columbia, MD.

She is survived by her husband, Joe; son, Michael (Pam) and their children, Amy, Lindsey and Jay of Landenberg, PA; daughters: Marley (Drew) Williams and their children, Andrew and Courtney of Longmeadow, MA; Betsy (Mike) McConville and their children, Cara, Emily and Megan of Eldersburg, MD; sisters: Shirley (Ted) Schuh of Appleton; Nancy (Jim) Ourada of Wild Rose; and Lynn (Ron) Verhagen of Appleton; Aunt Lois (the late Harold) Lamers of Darboy and Uncle Harry (the late Sis) Valentyne of Kimberly; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial services in celebration of her life with internment in the Naval Academy columbarium are planned for January 26, 2004. In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made in her name to the American Heart Association.

Al Sanderfoot Rt. 1 Bear Creek

Age 68, died suddenly Tuesday morning, February 10, in Clintonville. He was born May 8, 1907 in Freedom, Wisconsin. He married Esther Van Lanen April 15, 1929 in Wrightstown. Mrl Sanderfoot lived in the Freedom and Little Chute area for many years. He servied with the U.S. Army in World War II. He moved to Manawa in 1958, opering a restaurant there for six years, then moved to Bear Creek in 1964 where he ran a restaurant until his retirement two years ago. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and a charter member of the Bear Creek Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife, Esther; a daughter, Mrs. Ed [Laverne] Ellenbecker, Bear Creek; three sons; Al Sanderfoot Jr., New London; Lyle Sanderfoot, Appleton; and David Sanderfoot, Rt 1, Bear Creek; two brothers; Joseph Sanderfoot, Little Chute; and Theodore Sanderfoot, De Pere; two sisters; Mrs. Albert [dello] De Bruin, Appleton; and Mrs. Harry [Hattie] Van Der Wyst, Little Chute; 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Bear Creek with the Rev. Joseph Shinners officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery in the spring. There will be military services by the VFW following the funeral mass. Friends may call at Heuer-Siever-Stensrud Funeral Home, Clintonville, 2 p.m. Wednesday until 10:30 a.m. Thursday, where there will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Holy Cross Rites For Roland Grode Sr.


Roland C. Grode Sr. 1201 Rosehill Rd. Kaukauna, age72, died Wednesday, June 8, 1994 after a long, brave battle of cancer. He was born April 1, 1922 in Darboy, Calumet County, the son of the late Charles and Katherine ( Wiegand ) Grode. Roland was the youngest of ten children. Roland served in the U. S. Navy, from August 1942 to December 1945. He was Motor Machinist Mate Second Class. Rollie and his wife, Gloria farmed in the Freedom and Black Creek area for 15 years before moving to Appleton where he started R.C. Grode Excavating Company. In the 35 years spent in Appleton he was a chartered of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, chartered member of the Appleton Evening Lions Club, chartered member of the VFW Post 7692, chartered member of the Urban Klister Post 436 of the American Legion, Wrightstown, member of the American Post 38 of Appleton and former member of Appleton Elks. Rollie was a chartered member Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gloria ( Tease ); 1 son and daughter in-law, Roland and Linda Grode Jr., of Kaukauna; 3 grandchildren, Kristin, Aaron and Matthew Grode; 2 sisters and 1 brother in-law, Adeline Fox, Viola Grode, and Florian Girard, all of Appleton; 1 sister in-law, Mildred Grode of Freedom. He is further survived by his wife's brothers and sisters in-law, Ken and Marilyn Tease of Kaukauna, Raymond and Ethel Verstegen of Kimberly, and Anne Tease of Appleton; 3 special godchildren, Kathy Wallace and Susan Hennes, both of Kaukauna, Julie Van Den Bogart of Hortonville; and numerous nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Laura McCurry, Mary Sprangers, Ella Heideman, Alma Girard and Rose Verstegen; and 2 brothers, Willard and Edmond Grode.

The funeral services were Friday, June 10, at 5 PM at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna, with the Rev. Paul Paider officiating. Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Complete Military rites were held immediately following the mass performed by the VFW and American Legion Post. Pallbearers were Wayne and Floyd Grode, Don Fox, Joe Heidemann, Fred Sprangers, and Jim Verstegen. A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Grode's name. The Fargo Funeral Home, Kaukauna, was in charge of the arrangements.
