Petrus Antonius Maria Arts, age 93, servant of God, husband, father, opa and a friend-in-Christ to all, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, the day of rest. Peter was born on May 2, 1930 to Arnoldus and AnnaMaria vd Rijt-Arts in Volkel, the Netherlands and was the 7th of 13 children. Peter led a mischievous childhood that was intertwined with a deep commitment to his Catholic faith. He grew up on the family farm and was 10 years old when WWII began. This precarious boy quickly became a man with the German occupation of his town and the hardships of war that followed. At the age of 15, Peter experienced freedom when his hometown was finally liberated by Allied Forces. These experiences planted seeds of gratitude, duty and patriotism that would grow in Peter's heart. Those seeds emerged 15 years later in June of 1960 as Peter said farewell to his family, boarded a plane with his bride, Mary (Marietje), and set out on an adventure to the United States of America.

Peter and Mary settled in Little Chute, Wisconsin, surrounded by Dutch family and friends who immigrated to the Fox Valley area before them. Peter was a bricklayer and secured immediate employment with Miller Masonry, eventually joining the trade union and retiring in 1992. He was well-known for his attention to detail and his jobs were admired by many. Peter's love for America grew and he was eager to complete the process of establishing U.S. citizenship. On a proud day in July of 1972, Peter and Mary became official citizens of the United States of America. Peter took the love of country seriously and proudly sang the National Anthem wherever it was played. Peter was an excellent provider and role model for his family and held both God and family in high esteem. In his faith community, Peter is best known for his persistent efforts in leading many people to deepen their faith through the Catholic Cursillo movement. He proudly served in the Knights of Columbus, assisted on mission trips to Honduras, was a perpetual Adoration adorer, in addition to singing and playing his harmonica in the church choir. Peter was determined to show his appreciation for the opportunities provided to him by giving back to his community through involvement with many local organizations, most notably the Little Chute Windmill, Kiwanis Club, Special Olympics, Meals on Wheels and many Kermis festivals. Peter's genuine kindness, unmatched sense of humor and thoughtful giving nature were felt by many.

Peter is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary, three daughters: Harriette (Marty) Janssen, Rie-ann (Harold) Jansen and Debby (Todd) Van Boxtel. Nine grandchildren: Elyse (Mike) Lloyd, Jillian (Zach) Friebel and Jenna Janssen, Andrea (Michael) Kioski, Kurt (Gaby) Jansen, Sophia (Wade) Marrs, Juliana (Ted) Gullickson, Lucy and Ava Van Boxtel. I was born on March 4, 1937 in Neenah, Wisconsin, the youngest of 4 children. My parents, August and Rose Peapenburg were elated, I am sure! At the tender age of 3, we moved to the family farm on Shady Lane north of Menasha. At this tender age, I became the proverbial “farmer’s daughter.” At an early age, I learned to love nature and the outdoors, which influenced the rest of my life. Until the end of grade 6, I attended River Road School, in a one room school house, then attended Trinity Lutheran (Dutch College) for 2 years and graduated from Neenah High School in 1955, “The Class That Was Alive.” Right after school, I was hired to work at the Wisconsin Paper Group, where I became Secretary/Treasurer for 8 ½ years. 1957 was a banner year! I married my best friend, Al Kuchenbecker. We built our first home together and we became proud owners of Green Bay Packers Season Tickets, which are still in the family today. Go Pack Go! In 1963, we purchased Kuchenbecker Builders, a family business since 1925 and operated it until our retirement.

We were proud parents of 3 daughters: Ann, Menasha, Mary (Mark), Neenah, and Amy, Crivitz; 9 grandchilden: Thomas (Cassandra), Neenah, Megan (Mike, Captain in the Army), Colorado Springs, CO, Brandon, Gunnison, CO, Justin (Myriah), Oconto Falls, Jacob (Sara), Neenah, Josh (Dana), Neenah, James, Menasha, Andrew, Menasha, Morgan (Brian), Menasha; Kyle (deceased), our adopted kids, Jeremy and Jen, Menasha; great-grandchildren: Liam, Sage, Grace, Evelyn, Rory, Theo, and Baby Louie coming soon. I am further survived by my beloved brother, Richard Peapenburg, and sister-in-law, Judy Kuchenbecker; my dear friend, Vicki Slife, and numerous nieces and nephews that I dearly love.

Preceding me in death were my parents, Al’s parents, my loving husband, Al, my beloved grandson, Kyle, my brother, Don Peapenburg; sister, Harriet Peapenburg; brothers-in-law: Douglas Kuchenbecker, Eugene Kuchenbecker, Robert Buchholz, and Rueben Stache; and my sisters-in-law: Carolyn Peapenburg and Pat Peapenburg.

Our second home in Suring was enjoyed by all, especially in November during deer hunting and Thanksgiving weeks. We called it deer hunting, but it was really a big get together of family and friends. I was the most avid hunter in the group and the stories are endless. If you are reading this, you will know that my quest for the “30-point buck” has ended.

The Funeral Service for Ruth will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Martin Luther Ev. Lutheran Church, 436 S. Lake Street, Neenah, WI 54956. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the hour of the service at the church.
Entombment will take place in Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Neenah.

We’ve lost a kind, generous man, a man with a full heart. Tracy McCrory, 67, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024 at the home of his fiancée, Carrie Petersen. He was sick for only two months, gone too soon and too quickly.

He is survived by his loving brother, Jeff McCrory and Tracy’s very special partner, Carrie Petersen. Meeting Carrie just a few years ago, Tracy quickly fell in love and was brought into the relationship of her grandson, Andrew Jones. Tracy and Andrew formed a mutual endearment. Their collective future plans were hurriedly put aside to care for Tracy.

Tracy came into this world on July 26, 1956 and was born in Appleton WI, his home for his entire life. He was an accomplished golfer, even as a teenager. For decades golf was his first love and vocation. He cherished all the rounds with his brother, Jeff, and his father, Bob McCrory. And of course, all the fun times with his friends at Reid Municipal Golf Course. A back injury a few years ago ended Tracy’s golfing. This was extremely hard on him, but he never complained. The memories last forever.

Tracy loved county fairs, music concerts, art shows and parades. He loved to eat, “knew all the best places” and many of them got to know him. Carrie would accompany him on every excursion. Tracy’s Aunt Alice adopted Tracy into her heart. He fit right in. Tracy enjoyed his many cousins. He looked forward to the wonderful meals the holiday and birthday celebrations. He loved their company and they loved him.

His brother Jeff, wife Sara, and their son, Julien will miss him dearly. Tracy loved Julien. He finally had a nephew! His passing has left a massive hole their hearts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob McCrory and Mary (Freund) McCrory.

Tracy was employed at Presto Products for nearly forty years. He made friends that lasted a lifetime.

Carrie and Jeff would like to thank Theda Care Hospice for the kind, thoughtful care that Tracy received. Tracy requested no funeral services. A celebration of his life will be arranged in the near future.

Gary Peters, 71, De Pere, passed away on December 31, 2023. He was born on July 18, 1952 to the late David and Delores (Vande Walle) Peters.

On March 18, 1972 he married the love of his life, Laura Gossen.

Before retirement he worked many years at Morning Glory Dairy and after retirement for Green Bay Nursery and Friese-Mier.

Gary left his mark on many people with his joking around. He enjoyed it when they gave it right back to him! As much as he would complain about things he was always there if you needed a helping hand. He supported his children and grandchildren in their adventures.

He enjoyed working with his hands and wood. Loved traveling in which he had met many people that continued to be part of his life. In the summer when the weather was nice he would take his motorcycle or convertible out for a spin. Even after he was diagnosed with cancer he never stopped doing what he loved. You would find him at Friese-Mier in the warehouse or making a delivery of furniture. He also worked the summer for Green Bay Nursery making deliveries of trees, mulch or other items. He definitely was a people person and enjoyed just talking. As the cancer progressed he had to retire from those jobs but continued to do projects at home. He had to make sure that items were taken care of before he went to his next life. His last project was to construct a cedar pole so Laura could hang her plants for the summer and winter decorations. He got it completed with members of the family and a stranger that was passing by, had it installed in late October. It looks beautiful and will be an item that we can all look at and remember Gary.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Laura; children, Amy (Don) Thibodeaux, Barry (Erica) Peters, Christopher Peters; grandchildren Bailey, Abby, Bella, Emmitt and Bevon. His siblings Ken (Sharon) Peters, Tom (June) Peters, Sharon (Dennis) Farrell; in-laws Mark (Cindy) Gossen, Mary Jankowski, Lonnie Gossen, Rodney (Corri) Gossen; nieces, nephews, many friends especially Pam Schlender. Gary’s cuddlier cat Sammie.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Pepper Peters.
A special thank you to the staff at Green Bay Oncology (St. Vincent’s Hospital) and Unity Hospice. The support of words and love from family and friends through this difficult journey.

A Celebration of Gary’s life will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Just Stop In, 5316 State Hwy. 57, De Pere from 1:00pm to 6:00pm. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family with arrangements.
