They included being the owner of Complete Radiator, driving truck for different firms, and working for Badger Highways. He retired in 2000. Jerry was proud to have served as a volunteer firefighter for the Town of Menasha for over thirty-two years. He loved to play golf, NASCAR racing, the sports organizations he was involved with at his winter home in Florida, but most of all, his model truck collection was his pride and joy. Those who knew Jerry will remember him as an outgoing, likeable, and friendly man who made good friends pretty quickly and pretty often.

He is further survived by his mother: Virginia Rankin of Appleton; his step-mother: Eunice Schroeder of Menasha; and Dianna's mother: Josephine Sanderfoot of Kimberly. Jerry has several brothers and sisters: Bob (Myra) Schroeder of Appleton; Sandy (Ian) Cameron of London, England; Judy (Bob) Christjohn of Appleton; Nancy (Bill) Kangas of Menasha; Cynthia (Dennis) Kroes of Appleton; Bonnie (Tom) Day of Menasha; Andy Schroeder of Menasha and his friend Joy; and Fred Schroeder of Menasha. Judy's brothers and sisters are Ramona Meltz of Appleton; John (Gina) Meltz of Appleton; JoAnn Leddy and her friend Lee of Appleton; and Larry (Lois) Meltz of Scottsdale, Arizona. Jerry is also survived by a sister-in-law Rose Schroeder of Lincoln, Nebraska, as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and good friends too many to mention.

He was preceded in death by his father, his wife Dianna in 1994, and brothers Raymond, Dick, and Delroy.

The funeral liturgy for Jerry will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2007, at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1617 W. Dear Mom,

In life you taught us the values of faith, love, forgiveness, generosity, kindness, respect, grace, compassion, strength, dignity and the value of a good sense of humor. In facing death, and while making your final journey, you blessed us by modeling these very things. You will forever have our unending love and His amazing grace.
